On Thursday 27 October 12-1pm Michelle Miall will be presenting a Consent Workshop.
This is a vital soft skill to have going forward in both APAC and the industry you are headed for.
Since the advent of more inclusivity and diversity in the workplace, consent has surfaced as being vital in todays world.
The session will go for an hour cutting 30 mins off the first class of the day and you will all have lunch at 1pm and start the afternoon session at 1.30pm.
Topics will include
- Principles of consent (FRIES) and Intimacy Guidelines (stage & screen)
- Why are we talking about this? Why is it important in this context?
- Consent games

About Michelle
(She/her)
Michelle is a Theatre Director, Teaching Artist, and Intimacy
Coordinator/Director (under mentorship), recipient of the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s
Fellowship for Young & Emerging Artists and alumnus of the Australia
Council’s National Mentoring Program. A former Resident Artist and Creative
Assistant with the Queensland Theatre Company, Michelle has also worked as a
guest director and sessional staff for Griffith University Queensland
Conservatorium of Music (Acting, Musical Theatre and Classical Music departments),
QUT, ACPA, APAC and USQ, and is currently working towards accreditation as an
Intimacy Coordinator, training under Ita O’Brien (Intimacy on Set, UK).
Michelle has received Matilda Awards for Contribution to Directing &
Producing Outstanding Independent Theatre in Queensland, Best Director (The
Pillowman) and Best Emerging Artist (2009), and also won Best Director for
Brisbane’s Short & Sweet Festival 2010.
